Information for prospective tenants looking to rent through My Coast Realty

1. Find a property you love

Finding a rental can be a stressful experience and the team at My Coast Realty wish to make this process a little more transparent and as stress free as possible.  Below is a guideline for applying for a rental property with My Coast Realty and available rentals can be found at Properties For Lease | My Coast Realty

2. Complete your application 

Make sure you have all the information you need when applying for a rental property.  You can apply online through realestate.com.au or pop into our office at 68 Best Street, Devonport to complete the paper based form.  You must supply the following information:

Credit History Check

A recent credit check (no more than 30 days old) is required to accompany this application form.   A credit check is a printout from a collection agency which details your credit history.   Please see below:

3. Processing your Tenancy Application

Upon submitting a fully completed application with all the necessary documents; our property managers will review and process your application. This process normally takes 24 – 48 hours and you will be contacted to inform you whether your application has advanced to viewing.

4. Viewing the Property

If your application has been shortlisted, you will be invited to view the property.  The team at My Coast Realty will contact you directly to arrange that time.

5. Signing a Lease & Moving into your New Property

Once accepted, we will arrange a time and date for you to sign your Residential Tenancy Agreement (generally within 24 hours to secure the property).  This can be in person or via DocuSign. Upon your acceptance, you will be sent an email from our office with a copy of the tenancy agreement to read. You will also receive details on how to pay an amount equivalent to two (2) weeks rent to secure the property and four (4) weeks rent as your Bond.  Your bond monies will be lodged with MyBond so please advise if you already have a tenant ID with MyBond.

You can only collect keys to the property on the commencement date of your Residential Tenancy Agreement, no prior access is given.
